If you like a course that offers more of a laid-back feeling, the Southgate Golf Club will be a great choice.  It is a 6,100 yard Par 70 course with two distinctly different nines.  The front nine is relatively flat and crisscrosses the Santa Clara River.  The course isn’t long, but with all the water, golfers must shoot straight!  While playing the back nine, you’ll want to be sure to pack your camera in your golf bag so that you can take some shots of the awesome Tonaquint Mountains and the gorgeous St. George area views.

The Dixie Red Hills course was the first course developed by the city of St. George.  It opened in the mid-1960s, and has become a favorite of tourists and recreational golfers because of the fantastic red rock setting.  This course is a 9-hole par 34, meandering through sandstone cliffs.  One of the features that make this course feel friendly is the mature Cottonwoods and other trees that provide plenty of shade during the warmer months.  Every hole on the Dixie Red Hills course is distinct and promises an unforgettable experience.  It’s said that golf is addicting, and once you play Dixie Red Hills you’ll understand why that can be true!

Sunbrook Golf Course has been named by Golf Digest as the best golf course in Utah.  The criteria for this determination include scenery, quality, services offered and challenges of the course design.  Sunbrook actually is make up of three 9-hole courses:  The Pointe, Blackrock, and Woodbridge.  Each has a definite feature that gives it its name.  For instance, the Woodbridge’s fifth hole is near a lake featuring a beautiful country-style wooden bridge and the Blackrock Nine gets its name from having three holes carved out of lava rock.

St. George Golf Club is a hidden treasure of Southwestern Utah.  Originally named Bloomington Hill, it had to fight to grow into the fine golfing facility it is today.  This course features many acres of bunkers that give many players the feeling that they’re playing on exclusive courses in Scottsdale where the courses are cut into the natural lay of the desert terrain.  Then after a round, you can relax in the club house and enjoy the breathtaking view or watch other golfers make their way around the course.
