Relocating to St George Utah
While St George is an outstanding destination for active retirees, with the influx of business and the new composition of people who are relocating to St. George, UT, the complexion of the job market in the area has changed significantly. In fact, in the middle of the largest population growth period, the jobless rate of Washington County dropped to 3.0 percent. New job growth has continued at about 10 percent per year ever since. Because of the population growth, which is driving the growing economy, the more competitive wages are in skilled construction, mining, and manufacturing. And the major employers are in the local, state, and federal government agencies.
St George UT Climate
The climate in St George is mild enough for year ‘round outdoor fun. With only eight inches of rainfall per year, occurring in early spring and late summer, the climate of St. George is considered semi-arid. Though the daily high temperatures of the summer months average between 95-101 degrees, the very low humidity in the area make these days quite bearable. The winter months offer only infrequent snowfall, and any accumulation is typically gone within a day.
